Dr. LaWana uses Afrofuturism as a framework that leverages history as well as the present to inform visions of the future (as well as the past and the present) and encourage us to reverse engineer our way toward actions that lead us most closely to desired future states.

I am so passionate about Afrofuturism because I see it as a way forward for us all.

Afro Future Con (all ages) exists to bring individuals together and expose them to art and innovation that expands consciousness to include possibilities that are equitable and sustainable. We also uplift and elevate joy, the antithesis of negativity.
